garden sanctuary

Do you ever look at something and realize how blessed you are to be right there at that moment?  That's exactly how I feel when I gaze out on my gardens.

They are not the largest, most well groomed, well thought out gardens by far...but the beauty of the flowers...

the colors,

the textures,

the scents,

bring me the most incredible joy and sense of awe...

They are truly my place of sanity and beauty when all else in my world is chaos.

This is the view that I have from my rockers on the front porch.  It is the place I will head to after my work is done for the day...with company or all alone.

Truly my garden sanctuary.

Do you have such a place near by?  I hope so.

I'm joining Fishtail Cottage for Flora Thursday.

  1. It is a sanctuary indeed.
I would love to hear how you planted everything.
    Are those all perennials?

  2. No, I don't but wish I did. Your flowers are gorgeous.

  3. I feel the same way about my garden...it's the first place I go when I get home from work.

  4. Absolutely, I am often in my backyard heaven. :) Your garden is stunning.

  5. Yes, I do and I am thankful:) Love your flower pictures!

  6. I can see why your garden is your sanctuary, it is so beautiful! I love the way all the colors and flowers look together, they have a vintage feel to them. Does that make sense?

Loving your gardens as always, my friend! :) I hope you are having a wonderful week so far!

  7. Love the blue flowers. Work has been so crazy lately that it is hard to find time to even sit out during the daylight hour to see what is blooming. For the time being I'm having to enjoy a garden of stars...not bad though.

  8. So very pretty!! Flowers make everything beautiful:)

ps...i'm having a little give-away at my blog!! Stop on over if you get a chance:)

  9. Everyone should have a sanctuary to go to. And your garden is sure one.Everything is just beautiful.

  10. I understand completely and love the peace my gardens bring me as I look at them. Your gardens are a lovely combination of blooms.

  11. So beautiful. I would love early morning walks in your garden, with a mug of coffee in hand and of course, a camera as well. I love our kitchen porch, not so much for the flower view, but because it's quiet and a place to watch the wildlife around us. ~~~ Deer, squirrels, lizards, jack rabits, hummingbirds, wood peckers and on and on.

  12. The simple joys in life are truly the best!
    Lovely, just lovely.

  17. Thanks for visiting and I'm now a follower of yours too.
I feel you too garden with soul and realize the therapeutic qualities of gardening.
Very pretty gardens at your home.

  18. "It was a moment of perfection he would probably not find again this year, and he sat without moving, almost without breathing. There was the upside of a garden, when one was digging and planting, heaving and hauling, and then the downside, when it was all weeding and grooming and watering and sweating. One had to be fleet to catch the moment in the middle, the mountaintop, when perfection was as brief as the visit of a butterfly to an outstretched palm.

  19. I had to pop back and see these photos again. Your garden is just so cheerful! It does make me smile.

  20. Your garden truly is a sanctuary. Our property is on a mountain, and it is very sloped, so we are limited to what we can plant. I am visiting from Cottage Flora Thursday.

  21. Oh, your floral garden is so lovely. I just love the flowers in June!
    Happy 4th~
